good job on the pull ups! are you doing them dead hang or kipping?
i am still subbing in jumping pull ups but feel pretty close now. there is no way i could do kipping pull ups on my pull up station at home. i wonder if i could the next time i go to the globo.
on october 6th we will be starting a new competition on the forum. it would be cool if you wanted to participate. i just got done with the 30 day burpee to pull up challenge and it was awesome. there is a poll posted right now to see which workout we all want to do.
I'm kipping. I was doing pretty good at the pullup progression and then I started losing the weight - MAJOR difference. I essentially took off a 40 weighted vest of fat!
I built my own pullup system - I'll post a pic this afternoon if I remember.
I'll check the poll!

the pull up bar looks great. that is such a simple and great idea. what do you have holding the wood together in the middle? rope? how stable is it? does it rock a lot during the kipping?
I "toe it out" so that when I'm on it the posts are pulled inward. It's not super stiff, but I've done workouts with my client where we've both been on it - total weight 420 - without any trouble yet (knocking on wood!!).
The cross-bars are chains. The whole system is held together by gravity.
" Fight Gone Bad! " Three rounds of: Wall-ball, 20 pound ball, 10 ft target (Reps) Sumo deadlift high-pull, 75 pounds (Reps) Box Jump, 20" box (Reps) Push-press, 75 pounds (Reps) Row (Calories) In this workout you move from each of five stations after a minute. The clock does not reset or stop between exercises. This is a five-minute round from which a one-minute break is allowed before repeating. On call of "rotate", the athletes must move to next station immediately for best score. One point is given for each rep, except on the rower where each calorie is one point. Score 196.7PR! AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!! Wanted 200. Must push harder! The box jumps felt better than ever as did the push presses.
WOD Buttercups: For time: 20 Sit-ups 20 Single unders 20 Sit-ups Walking Lunge, 20 steps 20 Sit-ups 20 Squat thrusts 20 Sit-ups Time - 13:42 Used burpees instead of squat thrusters. Did 30 walking lunges (because, as a Math instructor, 15 + 15 = 20!!) The burpees (I can't believe I am about to type this) were NOT SO BAD! Lars - we're waiting...
15:00 minutes on the rower. Rolled it outside in the sun. 85 degrees. Felt great. Logged 101 calories - my rower doesn't count distance :( I am starting to feel refreshed and ready to jump back into the WODs. I almost did yesterday's - but made myself wait. I'll get in after the next rest day. Oh, I still feel the swim!
