Diet

1 week of Zone diet and I know. I have had none of my 2 or 3 per week headaches. I am more alert. I have ZERO acid reflux. I'm dropping weight.

New Day

Start stop restart motivate slump fall get up start again truth and lies. That's been the last year or so. Summer of 2012 everything changed. Everything. Some of the change was fantastic. Some of it seemed horrible at the time. All of it was stressful. I took the self-destructive (not atypical for me) path to deal with it. I won't go into any particular detail but one. I knew something was physically wrong. I felt listless. I was out of breath very quickly. Most days I didn't nwant to get out of bed. Given the amount of crap that was going on around me I thought I might be depressed or having an emotional reaction to it all. My totals were suffering. I couldn't do any of the intensity  training without feeling sick. So I blamed the workouts and pretty much stopped by November of 2012.  No will. At all. I started gaining weight. So I ate more. I could no longer fit into any of my pants. During the last year I noticed my left foot swelling intermittently. I couldn...

Homemade

When this journey started for me, crossfit was grassroots. It was homemade. In fact, that was part of the allure. I made my own medicine balls. I made my own pullup system. I made my own rings. I miss that.

When one door closes... No longer owner of an affiliate.  No longer working at an affiliate.  Another opens... Getting my tutoring business off the ground and going back to fitness for my own sake.

Clean and Jerk 3-3-2-2-2-1-1-1-1-1 reps 95--115-125-135-145-155-165-175-185 stopped. 185 is an old PR - I felt like I could have gotten 225 on the jerk but the clean at 185 hurt my back in a way that made me stop.
13.2  Complete as many rounds and reps as possible in 10 minutes of: 115 pound Shoulder to overhead, 5 reps 115 pound Deadlift, 10 reps 15 Box jumps, 24" box Didn't follow the flock to pay $20 and register for the  goes. But, I did this workout. After the walking lunges yesterday, the most difficult part was the deadliest!  Got 4 rounds plus 5 PP.
Three rounds for time of: 185 pound barbell Overhead walk, 50 yards 185 pound barbell Walking lunge, 25 yards 95 pound barbells Farmer carry, 50 yards Used 65# for overhead and lunges. Used 70# KB each arm for farmer carry. This was difficult (the lunges)! 11:11
