I haven't figured out how to read the distance on my rower! I think it's a sub-menu...

When I do, I will. According to CF, 500m rowing = 400m running (I think)

Ok, sounds like a fair sub. Although the Crossfit FAQ says:

[i]"3.2. How does running compare to rowing, biking, etc.?

To compare the different aerobic exercises, pick a comparable time interval. For example, if you run 400m in 90 seconds, then row or bike or jump rope or run stairs etc. for 90 seconds."[/i]

which of course requires you to know how fast you can run the distance :-)

I ran 400m in 1:30ish first try - on a track. Before my calf freaked out, I ran it in about 1:40 on the street where there is a slight incline and I have to stop and pivot on the return. I can get faster once my calf settles down. I am using 2:00 on the rower until I get better at it.

I regret that the monitor on my rower doesn't have a distance function! Oh well - still happy to have it.

How close are you to your tests? How's the training going? I am feeling much more progress with what I am doing than I did with simplefit. I feel I'll be ready for scaled CF WOD's when I finish the 12 week program. I'll test a simplefit workout - just to see how I do after training with this different set of movements.

Test is Dec 9th, but I'm not ready. Too much stuff interfering with my training still. Yeah I know, excuses, but the kids still come first.
