Buttercups:

pvc-15 pound Power snatch, 35 reps

This ended up feeling futile. I need a coach. Hopefully I'll get some determination at the Cert next month as to what form adjustments I need.

I used PVC. I think I need to fill it with sand just to get a sense of the gravity involved.

Lovin' my Five Fingers! I wear them around the house for an hour or so at a time. I did the workout last night in them. I normally live barefoot as much as possible. Growing up here in Alabama I remember Mom announcing that it was warm enough to go barefoot being almost as important as Christmas. I still have the thick soles on my feet I earned walking on the black pavement in the 98+ sunshine. I've even been known to teach in socked feet. I guess it's no surprise that the shoes were meant for me!

you'll get there with the snatch. i think it's one of the most difficult moves, so the fact that you are even trying it is phenominal! i did 'em too, and boy do we all need a good coach. if i were to ever choose a cert., i think i'd go with the oly lifting one coached by burgener. seeing where he has brought his students and children speaks a ton to his effectiveness as a coach.

I have that in mind already - we'll see where this level 1 goes. Most of the calisthenic/gymnastic moves are not a big stretch for me (at least in terms of technique!). The power lifts are so well covered in Starting Strength, that I may need a tweak or two but don't anticipate finding out that I am way of the mark. The oly lifts - well, that is a whole 'nother game!

Thanks for the encouragement.
